Im going to Canada for 3 months, im 16 years old. Im actually doing a student exchange. Since i live in Australia, and its quite sunny most of the time... im not use to snow. Im going to Canada in middle of winter! I have only experienced snow when i was young in NZ. So..what do i need for the snow?? to keep me warm? ..what can i do to make sure i wont freeze?!!! anything important to take aswell? thanks:)

  1. You say a few months....in a few months it's still summer.  There's no snow.  If you mean in almost a year...yeah we'll have snow then.  I take it you mean a June/July program.

Also where in Canada are you staying?  We have varying climates....even if you're in Vancouver in December; it's still be quite nice; but I would recommend a jacket.  In Winnipeg; you'll be buried in several feet of snow.

Edit:  If you're in Vancouver, bring what you would for a fall day in Australia, plus a warmer jacket.  If in Toronto, bring the same, but with a heavier jacket in addition to the warmer jacket.  leggings are recommended, but alot of people go without.  Both Toronto and Vancouver have excellent public transportation so you won't be out much.

Bring your skates, or rent them...you'll have fun :)

Enjoy Canada, and I apologize about my slight rudeness before.
