Going to Cancun for Memorial Weekend, should we pay for excursion ahead of time?

Will there be much of a difference in price from Expedia then if we booked there?

If there is something that you already know you want to do, then by all means you should book your tours ahead of time. If I were you however, I would make sure that whichever company you book with offers a cancelation and rescheduling policy. On the other hand, the travel agencies at the resorts do not offer this either, so if you know what you want, go and get it before the space sells out.

just  " wing it " . Buy your plane tickets and at the airport just ask a couple of taxi drivers for the cheapest hotel your budgets allow for. They are pretty good. Hop out of cab and if you dont like what you see have him go to another.

Its more adventursome and fun ( in my opnion ).

Hotels are plentyful and have plenty of vacancies.

That's a fairly busy time, so it might be a good idea to book excursions ahead of time.  We booked a dolphin swim before leaving on our trip, and it was fully booked on the day that we went; most everyone had booked ahead of time, and only a few had been able to book after they got to Cancun.

It probably depends on the excursion you want (book early for more popular ones) and on the flexibility of your schedule (if you can go any day, then it might be fine to book once you arrive; if you need a particular day, you'd want to book early).

I doubt there will be much difference in price.  Sometimes Expedia does give a package deal though, and you can save some money.  I would check out the excursion webiste if possible and see what the normal prices are vs the Expedia prices.

it depends on how badly you want to do the thing ..it may be cheaper to pay now, but then you might decide you dont want to do that and find something else u do want to do..than again..if you dont pay early it might not be available..
