  1. There are no Aztec ruins in the area. The ruins are Mayan.

One of the best ruins in Mexico of any type is Chichen Itza. It was one of the place named to the new 7 Wonders of the World.

Tours are available out of Cancun.

Then cheapest way is to just take the bus there, but without travel experience, I wouldn't recommend it, unless you speak Spanish.

The ruins at Tulum are not in the same league, but the location is special. There on a cliff above a beach south of Cancún.

  2. Try to snorkle, or better get some scuba lessons.....you also can drink at the beach...haha

  3. I live on Galveston Island and have been there, the beach is where you want to meet teens your age, the buffets are good, not great, but good. The things you can do are jet skiing, para sailing, parachuting, banana boating etc.eat...eat...eat...

Positively go on the Captain Hook Dinner show on the boat!!

It is Awesome!!  At night the whole Cancun comes alive!!  You will not need to seek excitement...it will find you!!  Have a great trip and be safe!!

  4. .....I rented some little 2 man boats that wen through the mangroves...then we met others who did the same day trip....we all snorkled for a while...it was alot of fun.......it was 100 to 200 back in 1999.......everyhting is at least a hundred for short day trips or half day trips...there are fun katamaran snorkle trips to local coral reefs.....there are day trips to nearby Cozumel or Playa Del Carmen.......swimming with dolphins......sting rays..........restaurants........hang gliding behind boats......jetskis......hope you have some extra cash.......

  5. I was just there last week and didn't want to go home....go snorkling go on excursions go to the Mayan Ruins. Go to the shops in Playa Del Carmen. The weather is beautiful down there right now so go hit the beach! Have fun

  6. go to senor frog's and margaritaville for dinner.

ride jet skis (those waverunner things).

coco bongo is the most popular club.

see what activities are included or recommended by your hotel.

of course go to the beach.

there's a lot of hotties up and down the beach and possibly in your hotel pool depending on where your staying at.

    horsebackriding on the beach.

    ATV rides.

    parasailing.

snorkeling, but it can be really hard in places considering the amount of salt in the water.

    exotic water park Xcaret.

    scuba diving.

    have fun! =)

  8. Check out Xel Ha. Nice spot. You can also check out the Aztec Ruins if you're interested in seeing that. The only other thing you can do is drink and party. Have fun!!!

  9. Coco Bongo was really fun. As of two weeks ago prices were: $50 US for basic entry (no drinks and wait in line) $60 US includes drinks and you get to go in a little faster than the other line (still have to wait a little). They offer a sort of variety show that includes little skits like Spiderman vs. Green Hornet or something. They did some acrobatic stuff on ropes attached to the ceiling and there impersonation acts like Madonna and Elvis. Coco Bongo is located in the middle of the hotel zone near Hooters.

The Hotel Zone is fun at night, but during the day you might want to hit the beach. It will be extremely hot. When I was there two weeks ago it was 93 in the day and the coldest it got at night was 81. It will be hotter or around the same. Bring sunscreen.

For cheap souvenirs you can goto the Walmart in downtown Cancun or Market 28 (aka Mercado 28 or veinte ocho). This place looks kind of like a run down flea market from outside but it's where bargains can be had. If you approach Market 28 from the back side (like I did) the first  two stalls are operated by older ladies. They had the best prices on souvenirs and were willing to bargain. You can goto the big 'Mall' they have in the hotel zone, where you will find nice clean well lit stores with friendly staff. If that's what floats your boat that's great, but personally I like to go where it's dirty and unorganized because that's where you find odd little knicknacks and good deals.

La Isla De Mujeres was cute. It's an island just off Cancun. You can take a ferry there and do snorkeling. The ferry can't be too expensive.

Alcohol is plentiful. While waiting in line for Coco Bongo they served these bluish drinks with rum in it as well as tequila shots (all free). Since I stood in line for 45 minutes I could have gotten quite wasted drinking.

Depending on where you are staying, your hotel may provide entertainment as well. You'll have to look that up yourself though since you didn't provide that information.
