Going to Cap Salou soon. Any ideas on how to get to Barcelona from there, for a day trip?

You can take a bus or train from Barcelona to Salou (and vice versa). The distance between the two is 111 km or 69 miles. I recommend the train because in the summer the coastal highways can be very busy and the bus ride can be quite long. Both, the train and the bus, depart from the city of Barcelona (not from the airport). The train departs from Sants train station. The trip takes 1 and 1/2 hours and it costs around 6-7 euros. For bus schedule/fees you will have to look it up. The source below -in English - will give you all info you need as well as links to the train company (RENFE) and the bus company (ALSA). You want to be sure whether you are going to Salou itself or Cap Salou (the cape of the city, which is just a couple of miles away). The ALSA bus company does stop in Cap Salou. You can use google maps to check the exact location of where you will be staying, how far it is from Salou, etc. Enjoy the beach, the nightlife, the amusement park and the roman and Gothic building in nearby Tarragona.
