Going to Colombia need a crash course on what i need to know please!?

Im 20 and i can speak spanish fairly well but i have several friends in Bogota that speak english as well as spanish.I have my flight booked and my passport,i dont need a visa i will only be there for 2 weeks.So my question is what do i need to know before i go there,like tradition,culture and anything eles along the way

  1. Just be smart. If youre friends live here, then follow their advice. For example if you take a taxi, when you get in, LOCK the doors. Its for your safety. Dont wear too flashy of clothes. DO NOT flash a lot of cash. Bring your debit card and use your money that way its TONS cheaper than changing at the airport. I like Da Vivienda the best because you can take out 500,000 pesos a day (250USD) while most only allow 300,000 (150USD)


  2. It won't be too different from what you know. Bogota is a huge city, with all the good and bad things big cities have. Lots of places to go, heavy traffic, lovely food.

    Life there is pretty much the same as anywhere else. I'm sure your friends will try to make your stay a pleasant one, Colombian people are very friendly.

    and i think you should know tht the way we drive is crazy.

    theres some parts of Bogota were you will be robbed. lol

  4. I think you will do awesome if you speak spanish and you have friends down there.  Just don't do anythign there that you wouldnt do here, stay awefrom dark allys dont flash money around ect.
