Going to Cozumel is it better to book a hotel with the flight?

or should I wait & get a cheap room after I get there. Can I bring a bed roll and sleep outside? I also want to visit the ruins I'm guessing I should wait till I get there to know exactly where to go and what to do. I want to go the middle of May and stay 2 or 3 days at least.

I would wait until I got there.There are plenty of inexpensive rooms available in and around Cozumel.Forget the bedroll,people much poorer than you have no trouble finding an affordable hotel room. Only the high-end hotels have packages that include airfare.If you want to travel fast and cheap, ignore the all-inclusive deals.Feel free to email me if you have any other questions or concerns....Have a great trip!

Never sleep outside.  The sand flies and mosquito's will eat you alive and things could go missing--Like your head

Beware of when you go to Mexico "Air only" December around X -Mas IS OUT OF THE QUESTION.  Likewise March or any other holiday where you may indeed end up with no accommodation. Most package deals are for 7 days.

If you are going in May do not go on the weekend of  the 5th of May.

If you speak a little Spanish the "Air Only : is the way to go
