  1. TRY THE FOOOD! seriously if the food over there is anything like the one over here (puertorico) im sure you'll love it!! also get ready for a culture shock!! things in the caribbean are nothing like  canada/united states and...umm lets see what else be prepared to meet some umm not so nice people  some tend to hold grudges against anyone from north america :S

  2. Cuba is a wonderful country go and enjoy it ......only one week is not enough

If you have the oportunity visit Havana , check this

    http: www.havana-guide.com

Cubans are warm and kind people they will welcome you as a friend.

  3. did you know that cuba is a communist country and that if you go there and spend money, you are actually giving money to their communist country. it'll be like you are supporting the idea of communism.dont you feel any shame? think of all those poor mothers in china, living in a communist society that have their third children taken away. those poor children are either killed, made into slaves/servants but either way, they never see their parents again.

  4. it is nice in cuba.

  5. You're going to have the best time of your life! Cubans are wonderful people...very warm and hospitable. Be a friend and don't look down on anyone. Be open-minded and just relax. If you don't expect perfection, you'll enjoy yourself.

Cubans who work at the resorts rely on tips to make a living. So it's nice to be thoughtful.

You're only going for a week, but do try to at least take a day trip into the town and see the local living. And you're not so far from Havana, so maybe you can do that as a day trip too.

Relax and meld in with the Cubans...try to speak spanish or learn some words here and there. They'll love you for it (even though they speak english).

Little dollar store gifts are helpful for them, such as pens, pencil, they LOVE baseball caps lol, soaps, toiletries, things like these. But you're leaving tomorrow, so don't worry about that. Trust me, you'll be going back to Cuba soon after and you'll know what you'll want to take for the friends you will make.

Be careful about drinking a lot in the hot sun. I've seen too many people drink WAY too much and pay for it later. Enjoy the shows, the water activities, and just laying out in the sun. Make sure you use enough sunscreen, especially the first couple of days.

If you can go snorkelling, it'll be the most amazing thing you do.

Don't change all your money into CUC right away since you'll need to change your money back before coming home. CUC have no value outside of Cuba....so you won't want to lose in the conversion again.

Don't take US dollars as you'll lose more in conversion as there is a 10% charge. US credit cards and traveller's cheques are not accepted...but VISA and MasterCard are. As long as they're not US based cards, you'll be fine.

Bring back rum, coffee (Cubita), and leather goods. Excellent quality.

Other than that, just have an amazing time. Make sure you learn to salsa! And enjoy the mojitos!

    ¡Buen viaje!

**don't listen to anyone who says Cubans have attitude towards North Americans. They love Canadians because in general they don't give Cubans attitude and just try to meld in with the culture. Cubans are not rude, but they do have dignity and self-respect. They are highly educated people. So no one should be disrespectful. And if someone does act disrespectfully, they'll know how to back off from them (same as anywhere else in the world).

If there is anything you feel needs attention, just do so with kindness and respect. Know who to go to (usually Public Relations -- Relaciones Públicas) and talk with them. They'll help you out with anything.

The food is excellent. It's fresh and a lot of variety. Enjoy the grill on the beach during the day and take advantage of the a la carte restaurants...or if you want to keep it simple, just enjoy the main buffet. There is a lot of variety and be open-minded. I've seen some who only eat Tim Horton's for breakfast and complain about the food. Can't even compare! Just keep smiling and take your vacation in stride. You're on holidays and Cuba is meant to just relax. So relax and go with the flow...it'll be all good!

    ****LOL Reverand F @ Boy's got issues .... pobrecito.

  6. You will have a wonderful time.  Cubansare warm, proud of their country  and  some of the most gracious people you will ever meet.  Be sure to go into Havana, most tourists say it is the highlight of their visit.
