I feel so bad, but my parents never taught me how to drive a car and even when I do ask, no one teaches me. Do you think I will get made fun of for going to driving class? Also I am really nervous. I don't know how I will do under the will bc I have never driven before in my life. I do really good in college and have a 3.5 average, but I am just so frightened bc I have never done this before. Words of wisdom.. Please!

  1. Relax, go and do it. Forget about the others and focus on driving. It's not rocket science but it requires your attention.

    You'll do fine.

  2. you will be fine i got my liscence at 15 so im sure you being 20 will have the maturity to handle this just stay calm

  3. .

If anyone makes fun of you then you can be sure THEY are the fool.

I have been driving since 1978. I sought tuition then and I still seek tuition now - even though, and perhaps because I teach in many different driving formats -  to hone my skills, even though I know subtantially more than the average driver.

With driving you can never learn enough. Drivers that feel their knowledge is sufficient are more than likely to have an accident.

So, go ahead and learn at a driving class - after all, most of us seek class tuition when we wish to learn French, geography etc. We were not born with the ability to understand French or geography, that has to be learnt, as does driving.

    Good luck!

  4. Just do it, you will be fine.

  5. No! You're fine!

I took my first driving course before I'd ever been in the driver's seat of a car. I was SO nervous. Everything turned out alright.

Depending on what kind of driving course you'll be attending, you might actually be one of the youngest there!

We have driving courses around here that new drivers and old drivers can attend. If you get a speeding ticket in Va, many times you have to attend one of these classes. This means people of all ages!

Two of my aunts didn't learn to drive until they were over 30.
