  1. I work up in Edinburgh alot and really love the place. My list of what not to miss would be....

Thai food thats really really amazing - DUSIT, 49a Thistle Street, Edinburgh 0131 220 6846

The bus service is brilliant and so cheap. Hop on a bus down to Leith - a nice little harbour with some lovely restaurants. Royal Yacht down there too if you are interested in that sort of thing.

Take a train across the Forth Bridge to North Queensferry and then get off and come back again. Great views.

Royal Mile is worth a walk up and down - grab a pint of Deuchars in Deacon Brodies on the way.

Castle is v interesting too once you recover from the entry fee!

Just wander around and youll see so much cos its a pretty compact city. If you are coming in to the airport hop on the big blue double deckers - £5 open return and it takes you right the way into the city by Waverly Station.

I hope you enjoy your visit and get as much pleasure from the place as i do.

  2. Your Train Home,

    Edinburgh is very Expensive

  3. When your heading up towards the castle there's lots of little niche shops to check out (princes street is cr*p - all the same boring shops you get everywhere else. But if you are heading that way, be sure to visit the Hard Rock Cafe and Harvey Nichols).

And go to Jimmy Chung's for a meal, it's an all you can eat buffet and it's delicious :)

  4. Near where the castle is its got some lovely little shops. Each one different. Like your get one selling punk clothes and the one next to it will sell art paints and brushes. Also right up next to the castle there is a place that has already been mentioned by others, the Camera Obscura place. Its great in there. Give that castle a miss because the views good and thats about it. But of course your go there anyway! Also there is this huge art gallery and the paintings inside are amazing. If your going drinking at night then you won't be short of places to go. Just watch out for some of the roads are cobbled and when you've had a few its not easy to walk on! But there is much to see and do. You will find 2 days ain't enough
