Going to England for summer homestay?

Question

I am considering going to England next summer for a 4 week homestay, so that I would have long enough to experience the culture and get to know people but would not have to miss school or basketball. I am thinking about going through Rotary Club International, which means a student would be staying with my parents while I was away. I live in the United States, and was wondering if anyone had an experience doing this or using this organization. What problems and cultural boundaries did you encounter? Did you get to meet people your age much?

Anyone who has ever done a homestay in england no matter what the time could help me greatly... thanks!

Never done homestay but my mum took me to England to meet the rellies when I was 14,,,totally loved it,,and what a beautiful place full of great history and absolutely magic....would love to go back again some day. ( Aussie )
