okay here they are...

* I know that the electricity is different there than in the U.S. so do i need a plug converter so i can charge my ipod and stuff

* How can i call home if my cell phone does not cover there? I don't want to go to a pay phone every time i need to call someone.

* I also know that the money is different there and so do you think the exchange rate will be better if i convert my money here at my bank or when i get there in the airport

* Do they use the pound or the euro there. I thought it was the pound but i am just making sure.

If there is anything else you can think of that is really important that i need to know of (anything will help) then please tell me. 10 point will be given to a really good answer so thank you for your help.

  1. 1) You'll need a converter for appliances

    2) Check around as some companies offer world cell phones

    3) Go to a bank in England and change cash to cash for the best rates. The airports are expensive.

    4) The British pound is used there.

Buy a travel card for the Tube to save money, itcan be used for the bus also.

  2. Hi, visit http://www.eletz.net to find out some places of interests in London. Enjoy!

  3. (1) Yes, you will need a converter. And they are readily available in the travel section (i.e. luggage, etc) of most stores like Wal-Mart, K-Mart, etc.. Be careful if you take a laptop. It might not be wise to plug it in while you have a battery in it as the voltage needed to charge it could overload your converter.

    (2) Get a phone card! You do not want to make calls from hotel phones without one. If you plan to go abroad regularly you could get a phone from here : http://www.mobalrental.com/ It's yours to keep and believe me, I've really appreciated having it.

    (3) I change a little at the airport, but then I withdraw some from the ATM when I get there as the bank charges are a lot kinder.

    (4) Pound sterling all the way! The pound has been fairly steadily for the last few years averaging about £1=$2 which is rather nice for making mental exchange rates when out shopping.

If you're planning on staying in London and travelling around there, get yourself an Oyster card. They make travel on the Underground, buses, etc., a whole lot easier. TFL's website is fantastic for information about getting around London : http://www.tfl.gov.uk/ Please give it a look, it's worth it.

Most of all, have fun! And people in the UK are overall extremely helpful people. Don't be afraid to ask questions. If you have any questions for me, send me an e-mail.

  4. You could get your phone unlocked so it takes any sim card. Then just buy another sim over here (about £5/$10) and then use a phone card to call home. Should work out pretty cheap.
