Going to Florida in the Summer? Questions!?

Question

The only time I can go on holiday would be in the summer(would have saved up enough by then) so just wondering is it a good time? how hot is it? how bad is the weather/storms, etc? when are the schools off? (dont want it to be too crowded).

Towards the end of August you get cheaper flights, the parks are not so crowded as most of the kids have gone back to school (well the ones of school age!)  The temperature is just right (but the Americans think it is cold!)  Ok, you may get a thunderstorm or two in the afternoon but there are so many things to do it wouldn't matter anyhow.

You will have a great time whenever you go but the parks do get packed July and mid August.

Plan to have some rest days as it can be very exhausting.

Ok...the weather here in the summer as you know is hot, hot,hot, hot, and hot escpecially in July and August. June starts the hurricane season, but usually the hurricanes dont start becoming a major issue until late july through november. school is usually out the last week in may and it is always crowded in Florida no matter what time of the summer but if you want to come when it is least crowded come a week after the fourth of july. Summer is a good time as any to come here just be prepared to handle the heat.

i live in tampa fl and it is great if you like the heat and sun.but no just that we also have bars,churches,golf.art galleries etc.

if your going to florida in the summer get some sun screen cause  the lowest temp might be 90 something degrees. we are talking really hot
