Dear friends,

I will be traveling to France for first time. Need information on:

1. How to go from CDG airport terminal 1 to TGV station (AEROPORT CDG 2 TGV) in the airport. I heard its in terminal 2. How and where do I take shuttle from terminal 1 to go to 2? Do I go from arrival level to departure level and take

2. I will depart from AEROPORT CDG 2 TGV to LYON PART DIEU. From Lyon I need to change train to ANNECY . I am told there is only 1 regional train going from lyon to Annecy directly, so I have not been given any detail of the train like train no. How do I catch Annecy train in lyon part dieu?

Please feel free to provide any additional information which you think might be relevant to you.

Thank you.

  1. If you are an American, then be aware that you will leave the U.S. about 5 or 6 PM LOCAL TIME and arrive in Paris around 7 AM LOCAL TIME... you will arrive in Paris with no sleep and with jet lag and you will be shot physically.  Your ability to make rational decisions will be severly impaired.

You may want to think about checking into a hotel near Chas. de Gaulle for the day and getting some sleep before leaving for Lyon.

The train for Lyon leaves from Gare d' Leon.. The shuttle between terminals at Chas. de Gaulle is at street level, if I remember correctly.

There is an information desk at Chas. de Gaulle on the main concourse and they can give you any updated information you may need... and you WILL need it.

  2. When you arrive at CDG1 Airport, you'll have to take a bus (shuttle) to go to CDG2. It's not far but impossible to do by foot, it's about 10 minutes by bus. I don't know which level, but every informations are written also in english. Or you can ask at information desk in the airport.

I'm suprised there are not a direct TGV to Annecy.

I know there are some direct from Gare de Lyon, but in that case you should go in Paris Center.

I don't know the Lyon train station. I suppose it's won't be difficult to change, except the fact you have luggage to wear.....Just be carefull because there 2 train stations in Lyon : La PartDieu and Perache.

So be carefulll that the train to Annecy start also from La Part Dieu.

About the jetlag, I hope you can sleep in the plane, because we are 6 hours before NY times in France.

The way from Paris to Lyon is about 2 hours by train.

And last thing, you have made a good choice : Annecy is really a very beautiful town !
