We will visit Gold Coast from 10 Feb - 15 Feb 2009 (6 days). We are planning to go:- (1) Movie world (2) Sea world (3) Paradise Country Farm / Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (4) Sea fishing (5) O'Reilly's and Mt Tamborine, Cedar Creek Estate winery (6) tangalooma (7) shopping & relax at Surfer Paradise. Did I miss out any must-go place? Will that be too rush? Should I rent a car to save cost ( we have 4 adults) or just take public transport? Any advices are very much appreciated, thanks in advance!!

  1. You have to much to do in to short a time. There is no time to relax here. Tangalooma is a little out of the way maybe consider dropping that I live here and haven't heard of Paradise Country farm maybe miss that one as well The 2 shopping centres to go to which are both different are Pacific Fair for one and while you are there walk over to the Casino and get the monorail across to the Oasis Centre lovely place for lunch or dinner maybe you could eat at either the Casino or Kurrawa surf Life saving Club Lovely beach view from there. The other shopping centre which you would pass going to Movie world is Harbour town many designer labels at a fraction of the price.

  2. Wow, you are going to be busy, but you may as well make the most of your time here.

It won't be very relaxing though, you will be rushing all over the place.

You have listed 7 days worth of activities but you'll only be here for 6 days.

If it were me and I had to not do one thing, I'd drop going to Movie World. That's just my opinion.

Friends (Aussies) have said they preferred Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary to Paradise Country Farm. Personally, I love Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. So maybe give the Country Farm a miss too.

Have a great time while you're here.

If you rent a car with GPS, feel comfortable about driving and you don't want to get lost, then I think that would be the best for going to places like O'Reilly's, Mt Tamborine and Cedar Creek Estate winery.

  3. Too much of a rush i say and tangalooma is not a day trip you have to go for at least 3 days because of the barge(boat) timetable, some of the places you mention are very far apart and roads arnt to good in the summertime with traffic and all, just relax at surfers paradise and go to the theme parks

  4. l think you have too much to do, you need a full day at each of the theme parks, they don't open till about 10 o'clock and close early, l think bout 4.30p.m and you will be there during our summer with long queues to get in and to each show tip; line up early. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is very good and you have a lot to see there and some shows also, in my opinion it was better than Australia Zoo which is a 2 hour bus ride each way from Surfers, the yellow surfside buses are very good locally, and not expensive, Mt O'Reilly -- breathtaking views, beautiful, may be cheaper to hire a car. "Outback Spectacular" is another show you may want to go too, its on in the evenings with dinner and show included in the price. You can go on a cruise/ ride on the Adventure Duck which takes you on a road tour of Surfers and then  drives in the water (floats on water) and a look at the millionaires houses , a must-see is ride the Q1 which takes you up 74 storeys in a few seconds--- again breath-taking views of the whole gold coast..Have Fun !!!

  5. what about the australia zoo ? steve irwins zoo ?

its about a 2 hr drive but its so easy to get to.

make sure you check out the tallest hotel / building with the fastest lift thats goes so fast your hole bloody will shake
