  1. Start with the Plaza de La Liberacion

The center of historic Guadalajara.  From here you can take a horse-drawn carriage ride around the city. The plaza is surrounded by the Cathedral,Museo Regional,Palacio de Gobinero and the Theatro Deggollado.(All worthy of a visit)

    Plaza de Los Mariachis

    Parque Auga Azul

    Zoologico Guadalajara

The Ballet Folklorio performs at Teatro Diana

    Plaza de los Fundadores

    Bullfights at Plaza de Toros

Jalisco Stadium to see the (Chivas) local soccer team play

Tonala's market,Tlaquepaque's historic neighborhoods, Tequila's blue aguave,Zapopan's cathedral and much, much more. The tourist office sells a pamphlet called Puntos de Interes for about 5 pesos/50cents that has maps of the city, things to see and suggested walking tours.Buen Viaje!

  2. Take about six crates of Imodium.

  3. I spent almost half a day strolling the markets and sitting along mariachi street.  There's some really nice artwork inside the main, domed building as well (sorry I don't remember the name - I was there over three years ago)

I also took the bus (very cheap) to Tlaquepacque (I may have spelled that wrong) where there were a lot of neat shops and little cafes.

  4. Definitely plan a day to go on the Tequila Express.  It's a pleasant train ride through the blue agave cactus fields and then a tour and tastings at the Herradura tequila factory.  It's lots of fun.
