I want to go to Honduras for three months , but I have no family there or any type of house. Do you think it will be difficult to rent a room and get a job ?

  1. I have have lived in Honduras for many years and have a residency card issued by the government of Honduras. To work here legally you must apply for a working residency at your nearest Honduras Consulate in the U.S.A. You cannot apply while in the country of Honduras. You could come into the country as a visitor and check things out to see if you like it here. I live in LaCeiba and most of the jobs do not pay very well. I assume that you speak Spanish. Good luck.

  2. As the first post stated, you can not just go to Honduras and get a job. You must have the legal status to work there. Finding a place to stay won't be hard. There are several aparthotels in Tegus and I would assume in San Pedro as well. Nice places to rent for extented stays while in the country.

You could think about looking for a job to teach english while there. You have to apply and accept the job before heading down there but most schools will take care of the work visa for you to stay there for the school year. They often provide housing as well for their foreign teachers.

Hope everything works out ok. Good luck.
