I want to spend around 4 days there. Can anyone recommend a central place to stay, where I can make the most of my stay. I am looking for a backwaters trip, beach holiday and anything else intresting. Maybe see something in the morning and spend the rest of that day relaxing. I have 2 young children who dont particularly want to spend all the time site seeing.

  1. Really this is teh good time for India visit, as per your above mantioned choice you should go to Kerala (South India), there are you can see the combination between backwater and beach holiday,

I have recenrly returned form my India trip, So i would recommend an Indian Travel Company they would assist and guide you properly.

    Company URL is http://www.iconindiatours.com

Really my tour was well managed through this company with  hotel accomadation and transportation

    Best of luck

  2. I would say the Leela is the nicest.  The price can be a bit expensive but it is a very nice hotel.  They would also be able to set you up with all the trips that you mentioned above.  The backwater trip is very neat.  It is also one of the few hotels that is on the water.  The Leela is a small distance from town and can be easily driven.  If you want to experience India, but also stay in a pretty nice hotel then the Leela is your best option.

  3. i stayd at the leela, on the beach- they have chalets

  4. they say kovalam beach is super why not contact Make my trip .com a travel agency make be of help

  5. I heard alot of people recommending Om Beach.

  6. I think it would be more comfortable to you if you contact some travel agency/tour Operator for your trip as they can arrange all for you  accommodation, sight-seeing, backwater trip etc. You can check out here:
