  1. The one place that I would highly recommend is Waterford Crystal in Waterford City.  As the others have mentioned, there are many lovely places in Ireland.  You really need to research and find things that sound interesting to you and go from there.

  2. If you are going to Ireland then you should look up traditions on them

  3. There are many wonderful things to see! Blarney Castle in Co. Cork, Cliffs of Moher and Bunratty Folk Park in Co. Clare are 2. Bunratty is only about 15-20 minutes from Shannon Airport. The Dingle Peninsula and The Ring of Kerry in Co. Kerry are also neat places...I love Dingle Town. Co. Waterford has the Waterford Crystal factory where you can take tours...I could go on and on. Go to the library and borrow, or buy a good travel book on Ireland. Frommer's is one that Iike. There are also travel videos you might be able to borrow from the library. There are many Bread and Breakfast places (B&Bs) where you can stay for reasonable prices.

  4. wondering that too

    I heard its expensive

  5. well it really depends on where you're going.

If you are going for a tour just go to any hostel so that you can meet people and get advices from them, it is a lot of fun.

If you are going to Dublin I would suggest an hostel on the north side of the liffey in Frenchman lane I cannot remember the name (it is Jacob's inn or smth). It is nice and not too expensive plus it is central. Must see are stephen's green, trinity college, kilmanheim jail, guinness museum, wiclow mountains, Howth. for fun must see is temple bar !

  6. Anything interesting? Why else are you going???

Research the country and decide what you really want to see. It's a small country but the roads are bad so distances take longer to traverse than you expect. What you can see depends, of course, on how much time you have.

Dublin has museums, theater, historic spots etc. and the shopping is what you would expect to find anywhere. Try Cleary's if you like to shop.

Pub food is the only edible food in Ireland. Forget restaurants, trains etc. Exception: B&B breakfasts. Incidentally, B&Bs are the places to stay. Reasonable rates and I have never needed reservations, even at the height of tourist season.

New Grange, about an hour out of Dublin, is a prehistoric site and a definite "must see." Tours leave often, I'm sure, though I went by private car. The Ring of Kerry is another worthwhile spot, and of course some people have to kiss the Blarney Stone. Be warned that you hang down to do this while someone holds your ankles.

Be sure to bring rain gear. I rarely found any other kind of weather on multiple trips..........
