I'm an italian girl.The best city are Venezia,Roma,Genova,Firenze and Torino.If you looking for beautiful beaches go to South Italy(Puglia,Calabria,Sardegna..)cos at North the sea is very very dirty!

If it's your first time in Italy you have to visit Rome. It isn't a city it is The City :P, and in summer it is The City for Turists.

Than you could have a route in many little town near Rome.

Try Venice its very beautiful..also in Rome. take a little cruise down the venice water rivers..lucky for ppl that have houses  there. Milan, and Torino is good too.

Try the Amalfi Coast. I stayed in Praiano, it was beautiful and overlooks the sea. There is also the neighboring Positano, also very beautiful as well.

i am neapolitan and i can make you sure that in the centre of this city there isn't ANY garbage. you'll really enjoy your trip. if you go to capri, you must go to the sea there because it's very clean and beautiful; but the best sea you can find in italy is in Sardinia
