Question:

Going to Italy this spring, on a budget.?

I don't want to stay at a hostel, but I'm thinking of some sort of "alternative" (cheap) accommodation situation, but I don't want to end up renting a room in a ghetto, or from someone who's going to rip me off, or whatever. Maybe a B&B, staying with a family, etc.

Any suggestions? I'll probably be going to Rome or perhaps Tuscany (Lucca in particular). Any other suggestions would help too, since I've never been there! I'm an American guy travelling alone.

  1. Dear travelling alone,

Try the convents you can sleep there without any problem. However, there is a curfew depending on the convent.

You can also try some B&Bs but remember they are not really that cheap!!!!!!!!

Try to contact one of the universities in Rome and speak with a student that may.be can take you over for a few days.  Good Luck!!!!!
