In June im planning to go to Mexico By drivin across the border with hubby and baby. We plan on taking everything basically except furniture. I got to take all the babys stuff. Our clothes, etc. plus maybe a couple electronics. Is there any thing i need to do like paperwork so i can bring my stuff. I dont want to get it tooken, Someone said i may have to pay taxes?

I just caint afford to get my stuff took. Plus we have a 93 chevy, I know the rules have change on vehicles but i can still take it right if i come back. And does anyone know about tourist cards. incase something should happen and i needed to stay longer than the 180d.

  1. Ummm pack only what u need..Dont bring Stuff that u might or might not use..Plane security is Thurough So yeah

  2. You can drive in Mexico without insurance but it's a very stupid idea.  You'll also need an auto permit which costs about $43.

You can't stay longer than 180 days legally with a tourist visa.  Your auto permit will expire when your visa expires

  3. You will not be allowed into Mexico unless you have car insurance.  Your normal insurance, most likely, will not cover you in Mexico.  Check directly with them, and make sure you take proof.

I don't know about taxes or visas.

    Enjoy the trip.
