  1. It depends whereabouts you're going. Japanese people are on a whole very nice, but also very efficient and hygenic. If youre going to like countryside places then they'll probably be like staring and stuff, but still nice , but if youre going to like Tokyo then there used to westerners.

  2. Especially in Tokyo there are so many Westerners living there its not a big deal. Even in the smaller towns and cities every one is used to seeing Westerners it doesnt matter anymore. The older generation might stare and point some, but other than that there should be no real problem.

Japan in an amazing place, you should really sightsee there are so many things that you can not find anywhere else.

  3. I had no culture shock at all as I live in Hawaii & am used to being in the minority.  I suppose if you come from somewhere where there are mostly white people, it could feel a bit odd being one of few Caucasians around.  When my husband & I went to Tokyo, high school kids would approach us to try to practice their English.  It was really kind of cute.  It didn't work all that well, because we didn't know the "script" & when we would answer in other ways than what their language class had prepared them for, they weren't sure where to go with the conversation.
