  1. passport/ birth cert.  an noterized letter from parents granting permision for u to take the kid..

  2. If you are FLYING, you both must have passports.  If you are travelling by land you must have a certified copy of your birth certificate and a photo I.D. and the baby must have a certified copy ( NOT just a copy machine copy, but the original or another certified copy) of his birth certificate.  You MUST also have a letter of permission from  the childs parents , signed by both and notarized.  See site below for this info.  Read section on MINORS under "Entry Requirements. Again...copy machine copies of birth certificates are NOT acceptable.

  3. Take copies (not the originals) of his birth certificate and any other documents he might need to cross the border -- probably immunization records.  I'd also get a temporary medical power of attorney so if, God forbid, he gets sick you can authorize any medical treatment.

  4. What the woman above me said was excellent information, but not all of it, in addition, children traveling without parent(s)

must have a notarized letter of consent from one or

both of the absent parent(s) or legal guardian(s).
