what are the best places to eat middle eastern food (falafel, hummus, gyros etc.) that is not to pricey? Also is Madame Tussaud's worth it? How much is it to enter? What good pizza place is there other than John's pizza? (Johns was delicious)

Thanks

  1. Falafels are made by Jews and the Muslims alike and each style is different. The one place that is a NY institution is Mamoun's Falafel. Check it out at http://www.menupages.com/restaurants.asp...

Also try Maoz on Union square (check it out at http://www.menupages.com

Madame Tussaud's is a personal choice. I say you should skip it because it is about $35 and it is just a bunch of wax!! There are many better things in NYC to see and do.

For pizza try Vezzo (31st and Lex). If you want brick oven Pizza there are 2 places in Queens; one is Brick Cafe on 33rd St and 31st Ave and Manetta's on Vernon Jackson Blvd (just google for address).  Enjoy!!

  2. Real reviews from real New Yorkers.

  3. Well, the best suggestion I might have for you is to go into a neighborhood where the population is Middle Eastern.  I am sure you will find authentic, delicious food in those areas.  Remember, when in Rome, do as the Romans do.  Good Luck.

  4. Grimaldi's Pizza is amazing. The original is in Brooklyn by the bridge. In Greenach village, there is Joe's Pizza. Both were REALLY amazing.

I'm not sure where it's located, but you MUST check out www.halalguys.com. They run a middle eastern food stand on one of the corners in NY and it's incredible. Hands down my favorite meal on my trip. They don't start serving until 7 and there is always a line (which proves it's good!). It is so good and the best part- only $6 for a huge serving!!

  5. I agree with Miss K about, the halal guys its delicous. but for middle eastermn food...at a resturant....Horus Cafe was yummy and they have hookahs and belly dancers. ALSO...this is more upscale..and i think they were relocating..CASA LA FEMME. they make homeade hummus and pita....deliscous too!!!! have a great time....andmadame tussauds i would skip lol
