We are traveling from Buffalo, NY to NYC for one day next week. I'm the one planning the day, and I already have Planet Hollywood planned for dinner(much like Hard Rock, right?) Or would you prefer Hard Rock? Also, We plan to go to the Jersey Gardens outlet mall in NJ via NJ Transit. Good idea? We would be arriving In NYC around 7:30am and leaving around 8:00pm.

  1. I always choose Hard Rock over Planet Hollywood. I think the food is a lot better and they have great drinks.

  2. Your plans sound great I love Planet Hollywood and Jersey Gardens!  Yes it is very much like Hard Rock.If by chance you visit again try Jekyll and Hyde and Newport Centre Mall in New Jersey.

  3. wow, your going to have a tiresome day if your going to jersey gardens via nj transit.  also, why the hard rock? there are so many other places to eat for the same price.  hard rock is not what it used to be, just overpriced for some burgers and fries.  jersey gardens is about 35 minutes away via car so i dont know how long it will take for you. anyway, have fun. just make sure u have your sneakers on.

  4. Why on earth would you travel all the way from Buffalo, NY to go to a Planet Hollywood or Hard Rock? And then go to an outlet mall.

You can get either experience anywhere in the US.

    Reset your plans.

If you can afford it get a good meal at Le Bernadin or Per Se and shop in Soho or on 5th Ave.

If you can't afford it get a pastrami sandwich at Katz's Deli and shop at Canal Street.

There is no reason to go to the NY Metro area to go outlet shopping and eat at a chain restaurant. You are better off staying home.

  5. The idea of going to a Hard Rock or Planet Hollywood doesn't appeal to me.  It just seems like a lot of shlock used as an excuse to overcharge for mediocre food.  I thing a better idea in the Times Square area is to try one of the restaurants along Restaurant Row on 46th st, west of eighth ave or one of dozens of restaurants along ninth.  Zen Buddha, for example is a vegetarian paradise.  There are restaurants of all descriptions there.  Italian, Greek, Thai, Indian, as well as the ubiquitous pizza and Chinese shops.  A favorite of mine is Manganaro's Hero Boy an Ninth Ave and 38th street.  A new york institution. No frills, good food for not a lot of money in this cafeteria type place.

Ive never been to the mall but it seems like a big place.  Check their website, they have some discount or something for people who have traveled  40+ miles to get there.
