Going to Niagara-On-The-Lake from Niagara Falls?

I am going to Niagara Falls from Toronto and have found a cheap bus service that goes to the Casino at Niagara Falls.

I am wondering whats the cheapest way to make a short visit to Niagara-On-The-Lake.

You can rent a car for the day for around $40 or so, that would be best if you wanted to do your own thing and check out the town at your leisure.  Budget and Enterprise have pretty reasonable rates for Economy and Compact cars.

Other than that, you can contact 5-0 Taxi and arrange for a shuttle service to drop you off in NOTL, pick you up, and bring you back to Niagara Falls:

The only difference being that, with your own rental car, you could stop at wineries and stuff in the area.  The 5-0 Taxi shuttle is great, but it just drops you off in the middle of the town (great dining, shopping, and sights), so you would not be able to get to any of the wineries.
