  1. I live right beside Niagara Falls on the Canadian side. I'm assuming you are coming to the Canadian side? Your phone will work, however expect roaming charges. Same applies to the New York side. Basic id is required to come accross the border. No passport is needed. Thing's to avoid are restaurant's on Clifton Hill and down by the Falls. Super exspensive!!!Take a drive out Lundy's Lane and go to the Flying Saucer Diner. Great food and Great price's. And a fun dining experience. Look into Mick And Angelos. Another great Restaurant. Most Hotel's you find on the Internet that usaually say they provide a shuttle service is  an indication you are about 3 to 5 mile's away from the Falls  because it is not within walking distance. Watch out for that. If you want to see all the attraction's, buy the Great Gorge Aventure Pass. You'll save big money  as opposed to paying to see each attraction seperately. There is also the Clifton Hill Fun Pass. You can go on-line and look up both passes. If you are on a budget stay at the Blackstone Inn located on Ellen Ave. It's a 2 minute walk to Clifton Hill and is super clean and  and you won't get better service anywhere. Half the price than any Hotel in the area. And you can leave your car there and save on paying to park. I'm good friend's with the owner and stay there religiously.. I hope this helped you out but if you need anymore info, feel free to contact me at aaron_mcgray_aaargh@yahoo.ca. Good luck and enjoy your trip.

  2. your phone should work fine, however you will likely recieve some roaming charges.

Bring whatever you would wear normally in the summer. The Falls is no colder than NY state.  In fact, some days it's warmer.

It is gorgeous. I would recommend that if you want food to leave the main tourist area (lundy's lane is better for food) you can get the same items but cheaper.

Also try and get to Niagara-on-the-lake while you're here. So much to do there, Fort George is an awesome place to spend a few hours.  plenty of shopping, nice shops too.  Gorgeous scenery, waterfront, wineries and winery tours.

Between the falls and NOTL is the butterfly conservatory which is so much fun.

I would also recommend not wasting your money on the "Journey behind the falls" it is a tunnel with a window to see water. it looks like your in a thurnderstorm. such a waste of time and money.

  3. Your phone will work no matter where you go.

Roaming charges will apply though if you leave the service area.

Check with your phone company to get full details.

As for what you should wear, dress comfy and wear light clothing... be prepared to WALK everywhere!!! I highly suggest wearing comfy shoes... your pretty much park and walk through out the whole area...

Watch out for other annoying tourists lol....
