My wife and I are going to Paris and would like to know if the room rates advertised for a double room mean two people or do they mean for each person? For example, $140 euros for 2, or $280 eroes for 2?

  1. As a general rule it is the room rate (not per person). The prices do not usually include breakfast.

We hardly ever have breakfast in the hotels and prefer to go out to the local cafes which are very reasonably priced.

  2. Usually the rates are per room .. if not it will say so next to the price.

  3. Usually, in all hotels, rates are for room and not for person. Be sure that is a double room, choose the type of beds (twins or matrimonial) and check if the breakfast is included.

  4. usually the adverts or travel web sites i have used specify price, i.e., 140 euro pp (per person) if it is to be that way.   (sometimes that pp is in smaller print near the price).   i would check the advert again, and, if in doubt, try to contact the company or hotel ahead of time to avoid any surprise charges.

  5. a general rule is that the rates are per room and not per person. Most websites will advertise this fact and clearly list the charges. last time I went to paris, I stayed in an apartment which I found was far better value. We used these guys http://www.holiday-velvet.com/paris but there are many companies out there that can help you.
