  1. I changed most of my money there via instant tellers.

In many of the places is good to have Peru sols.

i think 300 or so a month would be lots.. depending where you are staying..

  2. In 1998, I took about $1000.  It was fine; $500 in cash, and $500 in traveler's checks.  Someone advised not to take all traveler's checks and they were right! US cash works great down there.  Of course, you may want to take a bit more because it's been 10 years afterall.

  3. It depends on the time you plan to stay there and where you plan to go, and if you want to travell cheap or the best of the best, if cheap for a week or two, 1000 will be fine, if you want to buy several things and stay in nice hotels and good restaurants  I suggest you take not less than 5000 for 2 or 3 weeks, just in case you want o go to Cuzco or other cities which tend to me more pricey than others but are worth the visit, as they say , the dollar in Peru now is low and Peru isnt one of the cheapest countries in south america , just make sure for your  your own safety, dont take all of your money with you when your going out  to visit the sites, keep it in a safe place in the hotel front desk  or a friend you trust.

    Good luck.

  4. I went there last summer and I would recomend using a credit card if u  have one and only a small amount of cash, and a little soles most places there take credit cards and us $ its like a big city.

    Have Fun {I loved  it!}!!

  5. about 1000 da clothe over there are realli nice!!

u dont have to take that much but just in case you may want to buy some things

alsoo bring money for the delicious restaurants!!

  6. I don't know how long time  you want to be in Peru   and wich  places you will visit , two weeks an aprox. from 1000 to 1200 USD remember the rate of American dollar  is low now, if you tourist information, a would like to help you and to give you some ideas ...this is my e-mail miriaminkawasi@hotmail or miriam_macedo@hotmail.com my name is Miriam and I am travel adviser , be in touch

  7. Depends on whether you want to travel like a gringo or a Peruvian.  Also, if you want to shop, go to discos, etc.  Dollar rates are low.

I'd say about 1000USD, but check for prices on the types of hotels, restaurantes, etc you want to visit.  Because a 5 USD hostel might be fine for some, while others prefer a 100 USd hotel
