  1. Peru is a great place to visit.  I have been there 3 times in the last 2 years..  we love it there..

Go to Cusco for a few days..

    Visit machu piccu

    visit the sacred valley

    maybe trek abit...

    check out www.sunriseperu.com

  2. I think that two of the people that answered before me have given you a very extense list of what you can visit while in Peru.

Of course the best places are Cusco for Machu Picchu and all archaeological complexes around the city; Ica for the Nazca Lines and Puno for the Titicaca Lake, which has the only floating islands of the world called the Uros Islands.

But before suggesting any more places, I should say that February is rainy season on the higlands (includes Cusco and Puno) I have worked for peruvian travel agencies, and let me tell you that most flights to/from Cusco get cancelled due to the rain. During the whole month of February the Inka Trail is closed because it is very dangerous to trek while raining. Imagine going to Machu Picchu just to get all wet and uncapable of taking good shots.

Of course there are some other places you can visit, but having gone to Peru and didn't take the chance to go to Machu Picchu, it is a waste of time and money.

From March till October is the best time to visit the highlands of Peru.

  3. south americans love taking gringos and their american pesos.... enjoy the culture and their people....

  4. they eat guinea  pigs in peru, so don't eat anything that doesn't look normal!

  5. the best advice I can give is cancel the flight. don't go to a third world country. you can get parsites from drinking their tap water and even eating the food. parasite eggs get in the food and you ingest it. don't go! that's the best advice I have.

  6. haha I have been in Peru and my Peruian friends don't eat freaking guinea pigs and their water is great, specially when it is resting on their swimming pools.... It all depends you know, not everyone here weight 400 pounds as how the US ppl are advertised overseas...

If the water were so bad then Peruvians will be dead and will be an empty country, its ignorant to put the whole country in one sac.

There ar beautiful places like Machupichu actually visited by millions of people and millions of people can't be wrong.

The beaches and the food are delicious.

Go to restaurant "La Rustica" in Lima

Go to the beach called "Asia"

Go to the beach called "El silencio"

Go to the colonial downtown in Lima

Go take the "mirabus" in miraflores.

Go to the cathedral and the "catacumbas"

On summer, Lima beaches are beautiful but the ones in the SOUTH like "Santa Maria", "San Bartolo", "Asia", go and surf too. If you don't surf, then don't go cause the waves are amazing in "Pico Alto beach"

    Go to miraflores and barranco

or in Provinces you can go to "Lake Titicaca"

On the Amazon, you can go to the rain forest like "Iquitos" and visit the tribes from the Amazon...

I dunno thousand things to do there, depending on what u like. Email me if you have questions

In Cuzco, thousand places to go, specially Machupichu.

  7. Hello, haha I have read the other answers and I think you did a best decision, you can get normal food, water and all the good stuff to have a great trip.

What to visit depends on how many days do you have, but you MUST go to Cuzco-Machu Picchu, one of the new wonders of the world. There you can stay at least 2 or 3 nights. Then if you have more time you can travel to the jungle, Iquitos is a good option to have a ride in the Amazon River. To Cuzco and Iquitos you have to take a flight.

Some cities to visit near Lima and that you can take bus, are Paracas national Reserve, Ica (desert with La Huacachina Oasis) and Nazca, with its pre incas Lines.

As as latin american country, you have to be a little aware for your pesonal things.

If you want more advice just let me know.

  8. machu picchu is amazing!! lots of great sights but many are closer to cusco (an hour flight from lima).

  9. Try to hit the beaches up north like Mancora or Punta Sal,

Go to the Italian Art Museum in Lima.

Don't carry valuable, or wear flip flops, tank tops or shorts.

THere are nice places to see in Miraflores and the Centro.

  10. take a lot of condoms....ill be  down there also in feb. so prob i'll c u.....:)
