Orbitz & hotwire search all the airlines (including jetblu & spirit if it flies from your area) & they give you the best price, also try using flexible dates. For car rentals try Thrifty, Dollar or Payless.  Hotels are more money, especially in San Juan, but if you look around (try tripadvisor too) you can get a good hotel for a decent price.

Also I think all-inclusive deals are not good, b/c the caribbean thrives off of tourism & all-inclusive prevents them from making much money off of you staying there. Just my opinion.

PR has only one all inclusive resort (Paradisus) and it is VERY expensive.  You should definitely go to any travel website(I prefer Priceline) and try to get a package.  Besides eating in PR is reasonable and drinking(alcohol) is very cheap.

I am from Puerto Rico and right now I can tell you I feel the same way you do when traveling to another unknown country.  I can suggest you to stay in a very inexpensive family owned hotel called La Playita in Isla verde it is right next to all the Nice hotels and casinos there is tons of food and drinking nearby and clubs as well.  Look it up online they have a website.

Not worth paying a fortune for an all inclusive resort in Puerto Rico. It's consider insane to do that unless someone is suffering some phobia in touring the island. Believe me on that! You will save a fortune in stay at a nice property, eating out and perhaps adding some tours than paying for an all inclusive resort.

Its depends where are u flying from. Spirit-Air have good deals for plane tickets! Or u can go to Cheap Tickets.Com they have package and they do have good deals!

  I live in Puerto Rico and let me tell you that is a really bad Idea  to get and allinclusive hotel in here because its really expensive any way the food and the beverage are cheap in the island dont worry about that . just concentrate in the hotel and flight . Just to give you and Idea you only need 20 to 30 dollar per day to eat .That is ifyou want fancy places .But if you want to eat typical food the average is between 10 to 18 dollar per day that include breakfast,lunch  and dinner For example a good break fast 2.50 a lunch 5.75 to 7.99  that depends what is on the menu and for dinner the same . When you get her ask for local places to eat. Belive me its a great food.
