Question:

Going to Scotland for college...

I live in the U.S. and have been looking into going to college in Scotland. While I was doing research about this, I was looking at Visa requirements. The Visa4UK site states that if you get a student visa for studying for more than 6 months in the UK, then you must intend to leave the UK when you finish your studies.

Does this mean...

leave after each school year (aka in the summers) or leave after you get your diploma (aka you can stay there in the summer)?

  1. It will mean after you have completed the three years (or however long) your course takes. You will not be expected to leave and come back during the holidays.

  2. depends on the visa deal you get

most likely when that year of school is up.

student visa's don't last that long.

but call the company and ask.

  3. why would you want to go to college in scotland when the US has better schools?  I don't understand this. Did you not get into a good school in america or something?

Edit: Gerry, you would hope for China to dominate the world..comrad. Hopefully they do take over Europe and you starve to death in another "great leap backwards".

  4. I think your visa should last the duration of your course.

Josh are you speaking from experience that US colleges are better?  Better for what exactly?

Typical yank, thinking they're the best in the world.  You're in for a shock in the near future when China overtakes you as world superpower.
