  1. I am a huge fan of "Choucroute!!!" Delicious.

  2. If you want to try some Choucroute then Maison Kammerzell could be just the place for you:

  3. Well, Strasbourg is a wonderful place and it's small enough so that it's very doable and walkable! I would most recommend the old town around the cathedral and "Petit France" around the islands for sightseeing and shopping. Also, the EATING is wonderful! Don't miss things like the Baeckeoffe, Tartes Flambées/Flammekuchen and Choucroute! We had a wonderful typical Alsacien lunch at the restaurant Au Pont St. Martin--it sits right atop the river and is bustling & full of locals! (And by the bye, folks in Strasbourg usually dine the German way which means seat yourself!) We also had a lovely, delicious and cozy dinner at the restaurant Le Baeckeoffe d'Alsace. (You may want to make a reservation, especially on a weekend evening.) Another neat thing about Strasbourg is that almost everyone is bilingual (French & German) and many trilingual (throw in English) so it can be easy to communicate (although you never know which language will come out of someone's mouth!).  In trying to find the names of those restaurants, I came up with some great websites. Here they are:

    http://www.baeckeoffe.com/html/index.htm...

Well, now I'm getting hungry AND jealous (never a good combination)! So, bon voyage and have a cidre or a vendages tardives (apertif) for me!

p.s. IF you're driving (and I hope not!), make sure to have a plan for parking before you arrive! Parking in Strasbourg is almost non-existant! (And the extra dollars that you might pay for a hotel with parking versus without are DEFINITELY worth it!)

  4. You'll be in France!!!!  Anything will be good!

    Bon appetit!
