  1. The indicative "entry" cost of a single 2-course a la carte meal(dinner), including starter, main course, vegetables (if extra), coffee, cover charge, service & VAT, plus half a bottle of house wine in Tate Modern restaurant is £37.

You can find 13 quite good restaurants within 500m from Tate Modern, some of them cheper some not,  so I'll you the choice:)

  2. Absolutely, when you walk out of the tate, head towards Tower bridge. On the south bank, you'll find a Wagamamas, Pizza express, Nandos (Portugese), Greek restaurant, few nice pubs. There's loads of choice, don't head towards the London eye though, there's not much of a selection. Hope that helps, enjoy the Tate!!!.

  3. Try going back down to Southwark Tube Station its about 6 minutes easy walk, just immediately behind it is a hidden street called Isabella Street, it's under some railway arches.

There is a brilliant Thai Restaurant & Bar there called Thai Silk, they also have another restaurant just around the corner in Waterloo Road opposite the main station. (and they are both usually really busy - its great food) There is a big bar and seprerate Restaurant at Isabella Street with a great outside seating area that get lots of sun. It's not pricey either they have a special at 5pm-7pm that is a full authentic Thai meal for just obver £7, the beer is only £3 a pint for a Kirin. Get them to show you the private rooms you can hire for Karaoke evenings, one bven has a Full Golf Simulator in it as well

  4. if you come out of southwark station 2mins walk to Tas restaurant which is very good - there are also restaurants each side of this one which as also very good. Nice hideaway kinda place

  5. The food and wine at Tate Britain on Millbank is superb! I personally prefer the art there too!

  6. if you are going on a friday or saturday, stroll down to barrrow market by london bridge station about 10 mins away. There you can get anything you want for a fantastic picnic, pies, cured meats, cheeses bread, pickles, fruit, cakes, etc, it is fantastic. Take your picnic with a few bottles of booze and sit by the river. perfect.

  7. You've gotten a bunch of good answers already. I however have to disagree with the opinion that food at the Tate is not great. The groundfloor restaurant does a fantastic fish and chips (never mind much else on the menu) so if you're in a fish & chips mood then go no further than the groundfloor.

Enjoy! The Tate is a great place   :-D

  8. The foods not great there. Walk towards the wheel and there are plenty of places down there which are quite good.

  9. THERE ARE SOME EXCELLENT PLACES NEXT TO THE 'LONDON EYE' THEY SHOULD MEET YOU NEED.
