  1. Unless you are going there as a grad students, I would be careful about moving into a studio on your own.  I've lived in L.A. for over 40 years, and I wouldn't feel comfortable moving near the USC campus without knowing the exact street and building very well.  It just isn't in the safest of areas.  There may be some particular safe streets, but if you guess wrong, you would be putting yourself in danger.

Most of the USC students and faculty I've known have lived in Pasadena, Downtown, or in West L.A., none of which are terribly close to campus, and none of which is very inexpensive.  I don't know where you are coming from, but L.A. prices may seem very high to you if you are coming from anywhere other than L.A., the Bay Area, New York, or Boston.  I would check with the USC housing office.  They can give you good information about where you can live safely.  Living alone as a female you don't want to risk making the wrong choice (another thing you can do is to check with the police about a particular address.  I've done this and been told exactly what kinds of crimes have occurred on that particular block).

  2. Are you serious?  Me, too.  I am a spring admit, and I am going there in spring.  Well, Are you freshman admit or Transfer?  I am a Freshman admit in Spring.  Please contact me on gandhi_minal@hotmail.com and see ya at the USC.

  3. the neighborhood near USC is okay, i mean its close to the school and lots of students live there. where the students are is safe.
