How are dark skinned people treated in Vietnam? Is there alot of racism? Is it safe?

  5. Vietnam is probably the safest place I have ever been, and I have been to a lot of places!

    I doubt anyone would be subject to overt racism. It is probably a lot less of a problem there than it would be in parts of the US or Europe.

  6. Hi, I just came back from Vietnam last week. We were two female travelers touring in Ho Chi Minh and we felt safe there. The Vietnamese are generally friendly and helpful to us though they speak little English. I saw some black tourists too, and they seemed to be enjoying themselves in pubs and cafes.

Good answers so far,you will be treated well,if you are black try not to be offended at some of the stares you will get,the Vietnamese are just curiouse,not only have they not seen many blacks they especially the women go out of there way to try and keep there skin as white as possible, they mean no harm and you will certainly encounter no racism.

  8. The historical situation in Vietnam proves union, so don't worry of any racism ever heard here. Furthermore, Vietnam is considered one of the safest places in Asia.
