Question:

Going to a Gynocologist?

This is a bit complicated.

I have kaiser insurance, but prefer not to go to kaiser to see a gyno because of confidentiality issues. My mother works in the emergency room in Fresno, my home. But I'm in college in San Jose. Illegally, she can access my information on their computers, which I prefer she not do. I don't want her to get in trouble or anything either.

So I Was thinking of going to a planned parenthood for a pap since I'm almost of age where I need to get one anyways.

My concerns are this.

Do they perform a pap and other services just as well as any hospital would, and would my kaiser insurance cover their fees.

I have double-coverage at kaiser.

  1. I doubt your KP insurance would cover the fees. KP's operational model keeps patient care as centralized and within their walls as posible. If you want a cheap Pap, I'd recommend you look into getting one done at PP and pay out of pocket (it won't cost much for you 'cause you're a student), call Santa Clara County public health and find one of their clinics, or go to a student health services clinic on campus.
