Going to a hair stylist soon; first time.?

After going to a Hair Salon, getting the hair style you want, do they tell you how to get it again? Or do you have to ask?

Just ask!

But ... also pay attention to what the stylist is doing to your hair while it's being styled.  ASK what products he/she is using ... what tools (blowdryer, straightening iron or curling iron, etc.), what technique ...

Just ask how to get the same look at home.  Any good stylist will be more than happy to guide you, and most will gladly show you 2 or 3 different ways to style your cut.

Heck ... you're paying for the service, so get all you can out of it.  Stylists don't mind at all if you ask questions.  Really, they want you to be happy (so you'll come back, of course!)

Establishing a relationship with a good hairdresser is a worthwhile investment of both time and money.  Once a stylist gets to know you .... your hair type, your lifestyle, how much time you're willing to spend styling your 'do ... he/she will be a great partner, and someone you can trust for years and years.

usually you would tell them what you want and they will ask questions but i guess it depends who you go to.

I am a hair stylist and most of the people who i work with tell you how to get it. especially if your trying a hair style for the first time. most do but if they don't tell you then just ask. and if you have problems doing it the same as the hair stylist then tell them what you have problems doing then they will explain it to you
