Question:

Going to a memorial alone for someone I didn't know personally?

This guy was volunteer dj for an independent radio station. Its a very small, lesser known radio station that is open to new music and Ive discovered many new interests to broaden my horizons. This guy was very special to his listeners. The station is having a memorial "party" with live music, drinks and food. I hate to go alone but I really want to pay my respects and also to possibly meet other "listeners". Its a 45 minute drive and its an all day thing. Very casual and laid back.

Im just not sure I want to trek the mileage and have to go alone. It sounds so much like a party and like it would be fun. Im not afraid to go alone, just dont want to feel awkward not knowing if there'll be people there I'll know. Anyone have any opinions on this. What would you do?

  1. Go. You will meet people with interests in the music you like. Mingle and be friendly. I'm sure there will be others there alone.

  2. I think you should ask someone to go with you. If you dont really know anyone there then you would prolly feel a little out of place. so atleast if you have someone there with you, you can have a good time and take care of business at the same time.
