so im going to a new high school for junior and probably senior year and i was just wondering if there's any lil hints or stuff to kind of ease my transition and make a decent group of friends. im not looking to be the most popular person cuz i already have good friends at my old school. just a couple of ppl so that i have a place to sit at during lunch, ya know?

to add my previous school is in the what you would call the high income area and the place im going is known to be a little more "ghetto" according to my friend that lives in the area

and please none of that "just be yourself" or "join a sport" answers, im looking for different answers

  1. i know what it's like to go to a new school

i used to live in a really poor "ghetto" area all my life, but then right before highschool, my family moved to higher income area

    opposite lulz

    but yeah, some tips

    - don't pi$$ ppl off

    - don't show off

    - don't say anything stupid

    - be friendly and open (who would want to be friends with someone who doesn't talk or look friendly?! social people want to be friends with other social people)

    - answer questions by the teacher every once in a while, let the teacher call your name, so people will know your name, once likely they'll glance over to you

    - when someone talks to you, try to find something to relate to what they're saying, ask questions, act INTERESTED even if you're not! lol

    example:

"so yeah today i walked my dog"

"o rellie, cool i always wanted a dog"

"yeah they're fun to play with"

    "whats ur dogs name"

    "benzo"

"o thats cool, wen did you get him"

blah blah blah strike up conversation!

  2. lol i hate it when i get those answers too! people just say that because they either want the 2 points, or they act like they care, but they don't. Last year i was the new girl, and i like had no idea what to do, but i guess if you just like, pretend to your teachers that you actually care until they just "like you" and you can do what you want...usually!
