I'm going to a wedding this weekend and my husband is the best man so needless to say we will be there all day and night. I'll have with me my 5 week old son. I'm a little sketch about what I'm going to do about his bottles... do I prepare them in advance, or on the spot? How will I heat them up (he likes a very warm bottle)? I'm a little worried about how my son will manage. Does anyone have any ideas?

  1. For my son, I always prepared them beforehand. We had two bottle warmers- one for the truck, that plugged into the cigarette lighter, and one that you fill with water and plug into a regular outlet.

If I was somewhere that I couldn't use either one, I got a cup and tried to find some HOT water somewhere.  I'd put the bottle in there for a few minutes, hoping the water was hot enough to warm up the formula.

    Good luck!

  2. Are you sure the kid is wanted at the wedding? If yes then the other ideas fit.

  3. Maybe you can find a babysitter for that day. If not then I would make the bottles as I need them. If the reception has a kitchen you can use the water there, or use warm tap water or some bottle water and heat them in a sink with hot water for a few minutes.

It's hard when you have to go away for the whole day. You never know how many bottles to bring and where to keep them, my daughter is the same, she like her bottles warm.

    Have a good time!!

  4. Um, find a sitter.

  5. My daughter is the same way!  She hates cold milk.  I went out and bought a thermos.  Whenever I go places I just fill it up with warm water and it stays that way for hours.

  6. You can make them as you need them. take hot water w/you in a tall thermos and use it as you need to. *if you aren't comfortable using warm tap water*.

  7. Really their are a couple of options. I know if you go to babies r'us or tareget or even a walmart they have bottle warmers that you plug into your cigarette lighter in your car and it will warm them up in a couple minutes. I have an eight week old son and when we go anywhere we have his bottles ready with the water (lukewarm) already in them. We have a formula dispenser container (it has 4 compartments) and when he is ready to eat we just pour the formula in the water and shake that way his food will not go bad sitting there. And if you do not want to purchase a bottle warmer (which they really do come in handy) I am sure wherever you are they will have a microwave of some sort since at weddings they usually have catering. Here are some websites that may help. The first few is for different bottle warmers and the next are for the formula dispenser. Hope I helped! Good luck!!!

  8. between now and then try him on a room temp. bottle see how he likes it.. if he will take it then you can pack his bottles with baby water or boiled water and they have containers for seperating formula and you can mix bottles on demand

  9. You won't be able to prepare them in advance as prepared bottles need to be in the fridge and they're only good for 24 hours that way. I would see if your baby will take a room temp. bottle. Try today and tomorrow. That way you could just fill the bottles up with the appropriate amount of water beforehand and just add the formula to each bottle when needed.

  10. We have a 7 week old and whenever we go out we take a cooler with us, that way the bottles stay as cold as they would in the fridge.  When she is ready for a bottle, I get a large glass (or take my own plastic container that is larger than the bottle) and put hot water in it to heat the bottle.  Works really well.

  11. I would say get a small thermos and fill it with warm water (if you have a good thermos the water should stay warm for the whole day. Waiting for th catering staff might take too long and your baby may be crying too long and too loud by the time they get to you. Having the thermos with you can allow you to make the bottles on the spot and not have to worry about someone having to help you (esp if most people may be intoxicated. Lol). Anyways, good luck with that.

  12. Don't stress.  Just make the bottles when you need them.  Surely there is a kitchen at the facility that will have warm water.  There will be bottled water if nothing else and you can just place it in a sink of really hot water.  It'll warm up and you can make his bottle.  More likely than not, at only 5 weeks, he'll sleep most of the time anyway.  Have fun!

  13. forget about the bottle. Don't you think it's kind of too much for the baby to be around with soo many people? what if he gets restless? What if he is cranky? Gas problems? I personally don't think it's a good idea to take the baby to that type of functions this early.

But if you don't have any choice, get a bottle warmer.

  14. If the wedding is catered you can always ask the kitchen staff to help you out.
