  1. Pasta and Ragu, Ramen noodles, Cheerios and milk.

  2. hello - first of all - GOOD JOB for biting the bullet and paying off some of the cards.  This is a great thing you did and you should pat yourself on the back for it.  You are on the right track.

the ideas above are good, food pantry, walmart, store brands, no soda or bottled water, etc.  you will find if you make a game of it it will go faster and be ok.

email me if you want some more ideas.

    good luck -

  3. well you might have to make un full family meals if you get what i mean.  like hav soup and thats it for a meal.  and save all your leftovers and eat that.  drink water only dont buy any use tap water.  dont have any snacks just eat meals.  eat like osup for a meal, and then you could eat cereal, and you could eat lik pb&j.  stuff like that

  4. Potatoes.  Rice.  Ramen noodles.   Macaroni and cheese in the box.  Just drink water or koolaid.   Soup.  I remember my mother making big pots of bean soup when we were poor and we would eat it for several days.

  5. Sounds like a lot of pasta, and finish off anything in your freezer or can cupboard.  Good luck.  In the long run you'll be glad you did it this way.

  6. check this:  http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf588374.tip.h...

also for future reference...try the website below..you can get a box of food for $30...and options for other extra food boxes..not sure you'd be interested but u buy for $30 and probably get like $60 worth of food

  7. how many in your family?

    buy the basic staples:

milk, bread, eggs, peanut butter & jelly (for sandwiches for lunch)

1/2 lb of mortadella or baked ham, or salami and

1/3 lb of swiss cheese (make sandwiches and take for lunch)

You can also buy a french bread and make panninis for dinner, add a sliced tomatoe and some fresh spinach.

For meals:  rice (make white rice, yellow rice put two chicken stock in it),

a bag of potatoes $2.99 10 lb. bag ( make the kids fried potatoes, baked or steam also)

hot dogs  (and cut hot dogs and fry them on a pan, cutting them into round slices)

ground beef (lean) and make hamburger "steaks" serve with french fries or over rice.

Always cheap: steam vegetables: carrots, green beans, broccoli, added as a side order.

two boxes of .75cents each blueberry muffin mix ( you can make muffings, or blueberry pancakes with it for weekend breakfast + eggs)

buy a few lemons and make lemonade for drinks. or make them a herbal fruit iced tea, they'll like it, and it's healthy.  Don't spend any money buying soda; unless it's a $1.39 two litter bottle of something your family will miss.

But I recommend that for the first week you go to a shelter for free meals, so that you can hold on to the $100 in case of any emergency.... you're doing great by getting out of debt, share that with your kids, and bring out the winning spirit and think of this as an adventure, make it fun and turn it into a game of who can be more clever by suggesting they look at the prices of things before they buy something; looking at the weekly grocery advertisements for what's on sale that is nature made, not man-made, shop on a tuesday or wednesday, that's when foods are discounted;  make your family part of a winning team's spirit.

Good luck, you'll make it, don't worry.

  8. I'm sure there is a food pantry in the city where you live. Contact them for help-sometimes they will give you enough food for a week or you can purchase produce, fruit, meat, etc at a very reduced rate.good luck!!!

  9. You'd be surprised what you can find at the 99 cents only stores now and days.  They carry a lot of food items.  You can also do like others have said and do the mac 'n cheese.  Ramen noodles are really cheap, but watch out, they are high in sodium and that's not good at all.  Pasta is really cheap and if you get some canned tomatoes at the 99 cents store, you can make your own sauce cheap.   Watch for sales ads at your local stores, check out who doubles coupons and you can get stuff really cheap or even free.  I do that all the time.  Even when we are good financially.  Good luck, and by the way, you did the right thing paying off those cards.  Now cut them up.

  10. Hi,

I used "Credit Solution" to settle my debt and avoid bankruptcy. They managed to reduce my debt up to 58%.I came across this company on NBC News Special Edition.Check it out here:

  11. If you have walmart by where you live, you can get alot of good things for cheap, first of all, since you're strapped for the next 2 weeks, try to avoid from getting anything name brand, go for americas choice which is walmarts brand. You can make macaroni and cheese, soup, ramen noodles, etc. It is not impossible. Stay away from fast food because your money will be gone in no time.

PS- I am not sure where you live but if you dont have a walmart by where you live, see if there is a dollar general, food pantry, winn dixie, family dollar, those are usually very cheap in pricing.
