We went there on a cruise a few years ago.  We looked at the tours available and settled on the one that was a tour of the Malibu Rum Factory, including some samples, and then on to a beach.  It was kinda nice, about like a winery tour if you have ever done one of those.  They gave us just one drink ticket and you could order from the bar by the beach anything you wanted in the way of a mixed drink (with rum).  

The beach was really nice and next time we go to Barbados we'll just do a beach and skip the tour.
