Depends....some things are cheaper than the UK some more expensive....I would say generally about the same....you can get cheap meals especially in that area which has a lot of camp sites.....many small local cafes and stalls which sell BBQ chickens, and cheap wine....you will love Carcassone, very touristy, but I enjoyed it.....but dont eat there....very expensive.

Extremely good value if you eat at the same place as the locals.  Carcassonne smells like an open sewer in summer.

In the town of Carcassonne you can get a very good meal for 2 with wine coffee etc for around €40-50, depennds on what you like. A coffee in a cafe will cost between $2.50 and €3, beer the same price. Even in La Citie the meals and drinks are around the same price. Of course you get a pizza for around $8.50-10 depending on constituent products. Compared to UK it is cheap
