Going to college and want to receive free dorm and living expenses... how do I do this?

I am going to Georgia State University and my dorm + living expenses add up to $12,000 which I CANNOT afford.

Is there anyway I can get a scholarship or financial aid for this? I am already getting aid for for tuition and such, but how about dorm fees?

PLEASE HELP :-)

  1. fill out a fafsa.  they will give you so much money and lean you towards lenders.  since my mom was a single mom and had three kids, i got enough money to pay for my classes and book, plus they sent me a check for the remainder amount to use on school expenses, such as a car and housing

  2. I don't think that there are such things...sorry :(

  3. Most scholarships will pay for room, board and meal expenses.  Most don't differentiate between the different types of expenses... the money is just credited to your account and pays the balance (or at least up to the max amount of the scholarship).

Maybe you should look at applying for MORE scholarships.  Just a thought.  Or your parents can take out a PLUS loan (through the schools fin aid office) for this amount.
