Going to different countires and stuff...?

Question

I don't know anyone that would even consider 'travelling the world' so how can I meet people that want to do things like that?

Where do they like... hang out? lol

I mean traveling by myself is pretty boring :S

There are a number of overland companies that enable you to travel parts of the world in the company of other like-minded travellers.  Check out Exodus, Dragoman &  Kumuka for starters.

Alternatively, stay in hostels - you'll meet plenty of people, particularly if you're following a standard 'route' such as Thailand down through S.E. Asia.  If you eat in backpacker type restaurants / go to backpacker bars (guidebooks such as Lonely Planet's ones will point you in the right direction) you'll also find that you meet up with people that way too.

My first ever trip was an overland. Then I backpacked with a friend that I met on that trip.  Then, with the confidence that I'd built up, I started heading out on my own, knowing that I would generally meet up with other travellers along the way. Sometimes I'd travel with the same people/person for a few days, sometimes a few weeks, occassionally I'd be on my own.

Finding someone to travel all over the world with you would be a bit unrealistic. Try to find people who can share part of the journey. For example, if you are travelling east from UK, find somebody travelling to France, then find somebody going to Spain etc...

Try googling for backpackers or solo holidayers. There are lots out there...including me ;-)

i for one am more of the adventurous type.... meaning 'i travel the world'

ex: wake up in the morning, decide to go to italy...., go buy ticket for the month to come; while in italy if i'm in let's say venice, i go get a nice tan in jesolo -- all for the simple reason i'm inlove with the adriatic sea!!

i'm planing to go to florence in late september, and from there travel up and down the country.....maybe a bit in austria  so if you like to join you're most welcomed ;)

i was thinking of going to the uk sometime after that, for a week or two... maybe you can show me around??

Airports are a good place to meet travelors...also when you get where you are going you will meet travelors there.
