Going to greece in april, please help!?

Question

Two of my friends and I are visiting Greece in April 09', and are not sure where to stay.

We want to be RIGHT near the sea, shopping, restauraunts, places to see..etc.

preferably walking distance to everything.

where is the perfect place to stay?

we'd like a villa rental, also.

reasonable price: 1,000-2,000 ish a week. maybe a tiny bit more, as we are going to be splitting the cost.

we are staying for about 20 days.

As Asimenia said in April it gets chilly!Most sea-side resorts and areas open in May-June. I would suggest to go to Cyprus. Cyprus has a nice weather in April, many tourists choose to go there and after all it's the Easter time ( holidays) in April so it will be an alive tourist place ( like every year) You can choose to stay in Paphos, ( Kato Paphos). The prices in April are much more reasonable, shops - restaurants are open, it's easy to go around. April is my favourite month for holidays, it's warm enough to get a tan and it's cool enough to sleep well at night.

The place you describe is like Glyfada or Vouliagmeni, i would reccomend you:

It can be quite chilly in April - and rain so you will need thicker clothes. Personally I would stay in a busy town/city rather than an island/ holiday resort as many places don't open till May in places geared for tourists. Even reps don't fly out till middle of April.

As it has already been said, the weather is the main problem.

However, 3 different locations come to mind that could be reasonably suitable to your requirements.

Glyfada, Vouliagmeni ,Varkiza all in Athens.
