Going to greece with a straightener??

ok so im going to greece in 1month from now and i want to bring my straightener there with me cuz i REALLYneed it for my hair or else my hair will probably not look so great when im down there lol,and what i want to know is can i bring my straightener from america to greece with me? cuz my mom and sis have told me that if i bring my straightener from here that when i plug it in at greece i will get shocked from the electricty cuz in greece they have higher elecricity then here so is this true!!?? PLEASE!! answer only if u know the answer to this!=] thx!

and if this is true^ then can i buy a sraightener from greece and use it there?AND HOW MUCH DO HAIR STRAIGHTENERS COST IN GREECE?

  1. you cant plug in your appliances from america in europe because they run on different voltage there (110 vs. 220).

    you need a power adapter, which are relatively cheap. heres one  from radio shack....

Any time you travel out of the country, the electricity will be set up differently than in the US.  First, you need a good converter for Greece.  A lot of stores sell them in the travel section (even Target I think).  Once in Greece, you'll plug the converter into their outlet then your flatiron into the converter.  After that, everything should work out fine.  I've used my hair care appliances in the UK, France and Switzerland without any problem.

  3. You won't get shocked.. just buy an adapter from the store. The straightener you have wouldn't fit in a European outlet anyway.

  4. Just get an adaptor... and remember for hair to look good, don't overtreat it.
