  1. well, i've always gone to public school and there is a lot of drama and some mean teachers once in a while but it's such a good experience. You learn things and get help from people around you, which makes learning easier. You experience such great things. you can join clubs, after school sports, activities, choose classes you want to take, go to dances. Sure there are some bad things to it like if your involved in a lot of stuff you won't have much time for school work but it looks great on your application to colleges. Public school allows you to make new friends and really see the world around you without being stuck in a bubble your whole life. You experience a lot and are able to learn things in depth. i would say go to public school, try it out..it's not bad.

  2. i was homeschooled my entire  life up until my freshman year of highschool, when i decided i wanted to e in a classroom enviroment with other kids, like all my friends.

public schools really arent they're jacked up to be.. and it gets old getting sucked into other peoples drama, stupid teachers, druggies, and seriously disgusting bathrooms and workareas.

i think you should consider trying school in 8th grade, that way if you decided you like it, in highschool you will know more people, which makes alot of things much easier.. trust me!

    good luck with everything!;]

  3. Going to high school helps you mature. You learn things from your peers, that your mom cant teach you. You meet people and get to do all sorts of things that you cant do at home.  i would say go to public school.

  4. Wanting to go to high school just to take band seems a bit of an overkill--you still have to sit through the 5-6 hours of classes, do your 2 hours of homework a night and all that--just so you can take band? Not very logical if you ask me.

As for whether to take your mom or your brothers' advice, who's got more knowledge, more experience, more mature outlook on things? That is, whose opinion is likely to be more valid in terms of what's truly best?

You've got 2.5 more years to figure this out. During that time, you'll figure out more about what's important to you in life and if going to school is the way to go or not. There's no reason to make your decision now.

  5. Its a personal decision that depends on many things, you could be successful and happy with either choice.  Your mom wants you stay homeschooled, what are her reasons?  If the school you would go to is poor quality, or in a bad neighborhood, than homeschool would certainly be the better choice.  There are a lot of advantages to homeschooling through High School even if your school isn't bad.  Really the choice is for you and your mom to make together, find out more about her reasons and look at the options.

  6. You can take some extra activities, like band, at a public school while you are homeschooled.

  7. wow ur story sounds exactly like mine a couple years ago. I know exactly what your going thru. I was homeschooled 7-9th grade and now im in 10th grade. I go to a public high school now, but it took a lot of thought. I have older borthers too that always presssured me into going to a public school and i finally did. Do what you feel comfortable with and what you want to do. I mean it was tough going back to a public school, but once you really get the hang of it, it gets easier. If you feel like you want that high school experience and want to go to a public school I would say do it. If you absolutely hate it just go back to homeschooling. Its not the end of the world if you dont like a public school, do what you want to do.

  8. hmm ya like everyone says you'd gt more experiances, but education wise it might be better to be home-schooled

my friend was home schooled but her brother wasn't (long story) idk, school is useful for social skills but it's seriously not the best learning enviroment, there are so many distractions! you get to hang out with people, and have fun, but it's not worth it if you want to have an actual life l8tr

  9. well you have to decide if you will get along with the structured rules of school

You hve to raise your hands and sometimes get a hall pass to go to the bathroom

yu have 5 minutes to walk from once class to another

you have to put with teachers and their attitudes.

  10. High school is amazing!

You have got to try it :)

Your missing out on a lot,

    like activity and friends.

Also when you grow up to go to college

or get a job you'll be very shelter.

  11. You need to make a list of pros and cons. If the pros of going to public school outweight the cons, then you should go. If it's the other way around, then I would suggest staying homeschooled.

I'm homeschooled now and actually thinking of going back to regular school for my senior year.

Like your mom says, you can always join the youth orchestra. Some schools will even let you join their band even if you don't attend their school.

  12. There is no experience like public school. You will gain a lot. and make tons of friends.

  13. Go to public school..atleast you can say u did it opposed to "I wonder how it would have been if I went to public school?"
