Going to high school please help!!!!

ok im going to high school in about 2 weeks and im sooo nervous

please sum up ur 9th grade year and i heard of this thing called freshman friday is it true???? do the seniors really tourture freshman?? HELP!

I can't speak for every high school. I am doing homeschool now, but the first week of school the seniors picked 20 random freshman girls and dressed them up however they wanted. They made then do whatever the seniors wanted them to do all day. It was all embarrassing stuff. But honestly I want to public school up until my senior year. It wasn't bad. Its not as bad as people make it seem. Except our school has alot of bomb and shooting threats and alot of drugs and racial fights. I live down south.

9th grade year was... better than 8th grade, but it sucks cuz your a freshman! it's ok to be nervous cuz every other freshman is feeling the same way! and nothing happens on freshman friday... at least at my school!

no they don't do that  9th grade will be the adjusting year for you the rest will be a breeze

"freshman friday" or freshmen hazing does exist especially in locker rooms, lunch lines by bully seniors or jrs.  high school is all about fitting in, if you don't fit in the main crowd, then you will be a loser, but not to worry there will be other losers like you, so you will fit into them lol.

Aww lol when i was a freshman 4 years ago i was never tormented by anyone...you just have to hang around the right people...see when i was going into 9th grade i had cuzins who were older so i just hung around them and then the majority of my friends were upperclasmen...but ive heard soo many terrible things happen to freshmans like some girls got their ponytails cut off and little boys got thrown into trashcans...but u shouldnt be worried really...besides in a few years you will do the same =]

hey! dont be nervous at all! 9th grade is fun and easy. you meet alot of people from different schools and make alot of new friends. i remember that i was soo scared when i was going into 9th grade but now .. i realize that it was one of the best times! Although I admit that some people may change, like former friends could be different, 9th grade was still something i will remember because of the people ive met and the classes i took. even though this is not part of your question i want to give some pointers:

-first day of school, stay with someone you know but dont be afraid to branch out to people in your classes, you never know if they could become your new best friend!

-definately participate in your school activities! also join clubs. these offer alot of ways you can meet new people which i have learned from experience

- dont slack off...ohh you will regret it later on!

- dont be nervous but really have fun. i never thought that high school would go by fast but now i AM realizing it. enjoy it while you can!

We have a thing at my school that is similar to freshman friday, but it only occured the week of our dance. you have nothing to worry about im sure at your school. usually its only if you know some of the upperclassmen that they "torture you"

I would recommend that if you do know any upperclassmen that are your friends to talk to them about what happens at your school.

if you are hurt in any way during the freshman friday PLEASE tell your parents, teachers, or friends that you trust. even if this is all fun and games it can get ugly.
